I am always checking out the reviews on Tripadvisor although, I'm not a big fan of the site. I have been noticing many repeated negative reviews about the salespeople lately. If you put in the search box "lifestyle holiday vacation club" you can read them yourself. I think this is something we all need to be aware of. This is not good for the resort as no one is going to want to go therefore they will not get enought people to join and the resort can fail!! Our investments down the drain just like Sun Village. These salesmen are relentlise they don't give up and are extremely misleading and rude. I must say not all of them are this way but way too many are. My sister just got back and told me a story about what happened to her.
They approached her and her boyfriend who is an attorney at their villa. They explained that her sister was a member and they had no intentions buying into a membership when they can use mine. Of course, the salesperson couldn't give up and carried on with his sales pitch. A few minutes later the sales manager (Mike, I think) came for a visit, what a surprise, and sat down with them and gave his pitch. He told them that Lifestyle would do a credit check on them and then they would be good to go and sign a contract. He wouldn't give up on them even though they told him that her sister was a Supreme member. My sisters boyfriend told him that even if they were interested that they would have to do a credit check on Lifestyles company, wouldn't that be the educated way of doing things. This manager got up slammed his book on the table and said you can not do that in a angry voice and my sister boyfriend said to him, did you forget I'm an attorney of course you can. He stormed out of the villa even leaving his folder behind.
Now, what was that all about. I was so imbarrassed when my sister told me this. The salespeople need to take a crash course on how to sell. I have to admit with the reviews that it does look and sound like they are trying to scam people. That's not good for us investors because if it continues it will affect the sales productivity and they will not have the monies they need to finish the wonderful future of this resort. I understand this is a poor country and these people need the money but the resort should put some money into their staff to teach them they proper way to sell and also be succesful. This type of sales is a turn off.
I think we should write to Lifestyle each of us and let them know what is being said and being done to the guests. How does it look when a person who calls himself a sales manager conducts himself like that. If he did it to my sister than I am positive he has done it to others.
Tell me what you guys think should be done, how we should handle this and who we should right to.
Thanks for listening.
I agree, the sales people are way too aggressive, but desperate times call for desperate measures. I don't know that we will ever convince them that this is not the way to sell. I just hope that the resort pulls through in this difficult time, and that we will all have many more years to enjoy it.
I just recently purchased a membership, and see many of these comments on this board are older. How are everyone's memberships today? Any improvements in customer service, bookings ect... Have they been accomodating to you?
I will provide the pro's and con's of my stay:
Pro's: Excellent room in presidential suites after being upgraded, staff was extremely friendly and accomodating, except one lady who took restaurant reservations in Cofresi (Not rude, just not friendly- didn't have the customer service mentality or a smile)
Con's: Our first room in Cofresi had a ton of mosquitos but then they sprayed and even though the scent was overwhelming it was much better & no more bug bites. No hot water in that same room in Cofresi- it was cold, so I didnt shower- the second room was perfect in the Presidential Suites. Pools and Jacuzzi's slightly cold- I would say roughly 68 degrees. I know it can get hot there in summer so this can be refreshing, but maybe they should have 2 slightly warmer pools at 80-85 degress and one hot Jacuzzi for cooler months. The food was luke warm everywhere except at VIP World, and many of the blended drinks were slushy, not a true Pina Coloda. I know many people staying got sick, and a staff member told me 90% of the people staying there do, but this could be water related (because they brushed their teeth in the sink) instead of food related (food poisoning)- something that should be resolved asap before anyone brings small children or older adults. I will say the soup I had was good both times at the restaurants were good(calm chowder and corn chowder) and the desserts were also good.
Improvements I would like to see: A toll free phone number, immediate response to e-mails, not 5 days later, and a code of ethics being established. Every modern course being taught in schools on selling- they teach ethics! Integrity is key if you want to have a first class operation.
All this company needs to do is be honest, and accomodate all of it members equally. The membership details should be explained on their site- free and clear so each member of a different level can see what he or she gets and the price ranges for each.
"Be the change you want to see in the world."
Can anyone recommend a good rep they deal with? Mine lied to me straight to my face, and then denied that he lied... big no no, and their were witnesses present.
Hello, yes the salesman are aggressive.
This is probably die to they get paid very little.
I had time to figure things through.
When you go there as a non-member or a member's guest, the service is mediocre.
Especially those that book through tripadvisor and cheapcaribbean.
Those peopl are the complainers on the forums.
They are not that smart due to the fact that they do not realize if you pay $35/night to include airfare, food, and accommodation that they are going to get the royal treatment. Seriously, the lowest meal plan is $50/night/person for a member. Do those that book for pennies believe they are entitled to the same as a member or better. I let you and others answer that question.
Anyways, I went there first as a timeshare owner. I noticed the difference in service level.
So I inquired about membership to members at the resort. I was impressed.
I contacted a sales rep and 4 hours later me and thefamily became members.
We got our gold vip bracelets and quickly requests came from office for them to reassign us to a better room, dinner reservations, tickets for Ocean World.
Seven visits later, I became a shareholder.
To this day, me and the family and the many family and friends that traveled with us there enjoyed themselves. They wanted to become members. But I told them to book though me, more economical on them.
Certain dinrks are 'ok' in one bar, but on others, they are better.
For instance, the mojito is 'ok' thoughtout the resort, but if you go to the Presidential Suites and ask for Ricardo, he makes the killer mojitos. He grows his own mint leaves and brings them to work. He is the young waiter with a friendly smile. He is a great guy.
I have been to all restaurants, except Johnny's and the Indian restaurant. The food is great but there been times when the food slacked off in certain restaurants. It's a hit or miss on the day of travela nd dining. The same goes here in the states. Many visits at a favorite restaurant the food is excellent, then one day you go there and the food is 'blah!'.
The reps I liked in my past is Liza H., I won't state any others because then I can be narrowed down to my true identity.
any questions feel free to reach out to me.
